That Pets are like childre this everybody knows.... but you must remember that if you have a baby cat this require a special care... because they used to scratch everything trhought the house to make their nails strong...Henry sometimes really drives me crazy so i will writte some tips if your baby is also freaking out there... hehehe
Besides some of the more obvious things like electrical cords, here are some other things to watch out for:
- Recliner chairs. Many cats will go underneath these chairs as a hiding or resting place. Cats that are caught in the mechanism when the chair is opened or closed can be seriously injured or killed.
- The dryer. Many cats find the small enclosed space with warm clothing especially inviting. Check your dryer before turning it on; your cat can be killed this way. A little aversion therapy: if you see your cat slip in, close the door and bang on the top of the dryer for a few seconds. Let the cat back out.
- Drapery and blind cords. Most cats love to play with the cords; unfortunately it is easy for cats to be entangled and strangulated. Coil the cords up to the top of the window and pin it there with a clothes pin or clip.
- Bags with handles. Cats can become stuck in the handles and panic. If this happens when you are not at home, the cat may injure or kill itself. Keep such bags out of reach of the cats, or cut their handles off.
- Stove tops. Gas or electrical stoves can present problems. One preventive measure is to obtain burner covers, available for both kinds. Most cats will stay away from anything that is actively hot, but you may wish to train them away from the stove by spraying with water, or trying other measures used to keep cats off the counters.

Basic Care for your cat-Feeding
Kittens should not be taken from their mother until they are seven to eight weeks old. If you acquire a motherless kitten younger than six weeks old, consult a veterinarian about feeding.
Kittens have high caloric requirements because of their high energy level. Feed kittens under six months old canned kitten food three to four times daily, removing any uneaten food after ten minutes. Overfeeding can result in diarrhea and or vomiting.
At about six to eight months of age, reduce canned feeding to two times daily.
Dry kitten food and fresh water should be available at all times for kittens of all ages.
When your kitten reaches one year of age, gradually change to adult food by mixing 1/4 adult food with 3/4 kitten food. Gradually increase the adult food to 100% over a five to ten day period.
Avoid generic cat food and do not feed dog food (cats need more protein and amino acids than dog food provides).
Cats enjoy a variety in their diet. In addition to daily dry food, you may want to feed canned (moist) food periodically.
Feed moist food at room temperature and store uneaten food in a glass container in the refrigerator.
Don't let table scraps make up more than 50% or your cat's diet. Avoid uncooked food, and never give your cat bones.
Milk can cause diarrhea and should be avoided in cats and kittens of all ages.
Your cat or kitten requires fresh drinking water in a clean glass bowl at all times.
Feed your cat what he likes. The "best" food will do your cat no good if he will not eat it.

Many people say that dogs are the men's best friend, but for me cats are just as friendly as dogs, you just have to get used to their differences. Henry is a great company for me, he's always around my room, he listens when I speak to him, when I'm sad he loves to lay by my side and when I'm happy, he likes to play games with me... He's the best!

Ear infections are very common in cats. Cats can get a few different types of ear infections (other than ear mites). They can get infections due to a bacteria or fungi; this type is generally called Otitis Externa. They can also get ear infections caused by yeast cells in the ear.
Generally an ear infection occurs when bacteria or yeast from outside the ear work its way into an already weakened ear canal. The canal may have become weakened and lost some of its ability to fight infection for a variety of reasons including allergies, skin disease, skin conditions, foreign bodies in the ear, mites, tumors, middle ear infections, wetness, or injury from scratches or bites.
Symptoms to look for:
Dark waxy discharge
Bad odor
Blood or pus
Inflammation or redness
Frequent scratching
Excessive shaking of the head
Treatment:
Your vet will first examine the ear discharge to rule out ear mites as the cause of the infection. This will be done using an otoscope. A culture and cytology may also be used to detect yeast and/or the type of bacteria involved. Any medication given needs to reach the 'root' of the problem so the first step will be to clean out as much of the debris and wax as possible. Your vet will do this initial cleaning either on the examination table or (depending on the severity of the debris and the demeanor of your cat) under general anesthesia. Then the ears will be cleaned thoroughly with a disinfectant solution. Your cat will then be sent home with ear drops that should be massaged into the cat's ears and antibiotics that may be given orally.
If you suspect your cat has an ear infection take him/her to the vet immediately, left untreated an infection can cause the eardrum to rupture. This can cause middle ear infection, deafness, and balance problems. Continual shaking of the head may cause a blood blister to develop in the ear flap which must be surgically corrected.
Precautionary measures:
Keep your cat's ears clean (although don't overclean as excessive cleaning can actually be a predisposition to otitis externa). Also make sure the ear canals are dried thoroughly after each bath. And lastly, as allergies are one of the primary causes of ear infections, make sure you pet is treated for any allergy as soon as he/she starts itching. One last thing, do not clean deep into your cat's ear canal with a Q-Tip® or any other sort of applicator. Cats have a tendency to jerk and move quite a bit while getting their ears cleaned and you don't want to take the chance of poking your cat's inner ear or damaging the ear canal. Instead use a vet-approved ear cleaner on a cotton ball to wipe the inside of the ear clean.

This is Henry's new bed - isn't it cute? It's very confortable too, I bought it because I want him to stop sleeping in the couch, he was starting to ruin it... Maybe I have to buy him some toys too, don't you think?

One day I was playing with Henry in my parent's bedroom. He ran between my legs trying to catch the string I was swinging around. I fell down, almost stepping on his head. He ran under the bed, and I fell down on the carpet. It was very funny. The End

Just recently Henry has developed a new and unusual habit. When someone leaves a message on the answering machine he jumps on the table and pushes it onto the floor with his nose. This of course pulls the phone and the caller ID Box with it. I come home and the whole sordid mess is on the floor. This is not good for the poor answering machine. He has also begun chewing on the phone cord when we are talking to someone. I guess the next thing he will do is try to answer the thing!
